Chamber Dives: Test battery measures.

This study looks at different paper-and-pencil tasks which are used to determine if there are any measurable changes in a diver’s performance based upon their diving experience. These tasks are carried out at simulated 'depths' that are within current recreational dive limits. All chamber dives are carried out at the purpose built research centre within the Hyperbaric Medical Centre, Plymouth, Devon www.ddrc.org

If you are interested in taking part in one of these research dives then click on the Chamber Dive link on the Sign Up section on the left hand side of this page and fill out the form. All personal details are treated in the strictest confidence and never passed on to any third parties. You will be contacted when dive studies are available to arrange a suitable time to take part. For more information on Chamber Dive.

Online diver questionnaires.

This series of online studies are looking at whether there are differences between groups of divers. We will be looking at a number of cognitive functions such as manual dexterity, visual perception, spatial awareness and even factors such as motivation to dive and selection of dive sites. This is a nationwide study where any diver can take part by following the study link in the Sign Up section on the left hand side of the screen. Follow-on studies from this could involve paid-volunteer studies at the University of Plymouth. Feel free to take part in the current online questionnaire here.
