Plymouth Baby Lab

Plymouth baby lab has been set up in Autumn 2006 by the School of Psychology at The University of Plymouth in order to study child development and in particular language and cognitive development.

We need your help!!

All year long, we need to recruit a large number of babies and young children to take part in the project in order to help us build on the body of research that currently exists in this area of psychology. There are a number of different studies using the baby lab at all different times of the year and testing sessions can be tailored to suit you.

If you have young children, aged between 0-10 years old and would like to take part please register your interest below.

When you sign up to help us we will ask you for some contact details which will be stored confidentially and when an appropriate study comes up for your child’s age group, we will contact you to arrange a visit

You and your infant will be invited into the comfortable and fun baby lab on a day that best suits you. We will offer you a tea or coffee and carry out one or two short testing procedures or games with your infant. Further details available here.

The baby lab is easy to find and situated only 5 minutes away from Drake circus shopping centre which would allow you time to get some shopping in before returning home. We hope that you will find the sessions fun and interesting. We will pay your travel expenses and as a thank you, or you will be offered to chose one of our special Babylab t-shirt for you child. Starting this year, you can also chose a £5 Waterstones voucher. Your infant will also receive a “baby scientist” certificate and balloon.
