UOP logo Feelings of Disgust

Brief

According to Rachman 1971, worrying and unpleasant thoughts are a universal experience. And in fact up to 90% of the population have thoughts and feelings of disgust at one point of their day. My experiment is to answer the question can being presented a disgusting stimuli; a dead cockroach or questions about disgusting stimuli and scenarios provoke OCD thoughts and feelings of disgust in the general population?

You will be given a questionnaire consisting of 27 questions, which will ask you how much you agree with each statement on a scale of 0-4. E.g. I might be willing to try eating monkey meat under some circumstances.

You have the right to withdraw from this study at any time without penalty and any data collected from you will not be held, but destroyed. All results are kept confidential, and only myself and my supervisor; Dr Paul Broks will be handling the data.

This task will take up to 10minutes.

All data received will remain confidential and anonymous. If you would like to withdraw your data after the study has finished, you may do so by making a note of your participation number and contacting me on the email address provided at the end of the study.
