Children’s Accent and Trust

Childrens Accent

Do children show preferential trust towards individuals with their local, familiar accent? In this study, 3- and 4-year-old children play a fun game on an iPad, in which they are asked to select between females who speak in either their local (e.g. Plymouth), a regional (e.g. Scottish), or a foreign (e.g. Dutch) accent to be their “babysitter”.
